DOILY INSPIRATION AND INFORMATION

Hello everyone.
Well! I hope you are all enjoying this heat wave we are having, at 32 degrees, it's a real scorcher.
I thought i would let you know i have some really pretty new Doilies in stock, which have just arrived from Malta.
Perfect for Magnolia Tilda and Hanglar Stanglar stamps.
they are 4.5 Inches or 11.5cm.
I thought i would give you all some useful info about Doilies.
They are so easy to colour, although they are intricate and delicate looking, they are also very robust and can withstand being Painted, Coloured, Glittered, Glued and Spritzed.
I have put a few pictures up for you to see.
These are all available from my eBay store or my website
I love the Daisy one with the Lilac and Pink.
Hugs

SARAH KAY "FIRST KISS"

Today i would like to share a card which i put together this morning.
I just love Sarah Kay stamps, like EB stamps they have an air of innocence and youth which at my age is always something to reminisce about.
I decided to go for pink and blue on this one, to go with my delicious K&Co  papers.

Coloured with Promarkers and Prismacolors pencils, but using very pastel shades.
This card would be suitable for an engagement, Anniversary  for some sweet young couple or a Birthday.
This card will be listed on eBay later on.
Now to get the dinner on the go.
Hugs and have a good day!

LILI OF THE VALLEY "BIG PRESENT" BOYS EASEL BOARD CARD

Hi everyone.

I have been going mad with my Easel board cards, they are such a pleasure to work with, and with my LOTV stamps, i am in crafting heaven.
I decided to make one for the boys to see how it would look.
I must admit i am really pleased with how it turned out.
this card is listed on eBay.
Hugs for now.

Lili of the valley Faries on Tiptoe

It's another wet and thundery day today, but a perfect day to be in the craft room doing a little dabbling.
I have done another of my Easel board cards today and used a LOTV stamp.
I just love doing these at the moment, i can just let my imagination take over.
This little Fairy is my favourite, she is just such a delight to colour.
I have used my Prismcolor pencils on this one.

I just love Lilac and marsh green, they just compliment each other beautifully

Doily Tilda

Today i thought i would show you a little Creation using yet another of my pretty Doilies.
I just thought this was really sweet and so very simple.
I coloured and cut out Tilda with a hanging star from last years Merry little Christmas collection.
added some stickles to her wings (you can never have too much Bling!)
and using 2 of my Tudor Rose Doilies and a little stickles made her dress and just addred a little Wreath carm and a bow.
Yes it was that simple.
She can be put on a card, free standing on a shelf or mantle, or add a ribbon to the top and hang her on your tree, either way she would look lovely and sparkly.
Do excuse her left cheek, i put a little too much rouge on and couldn't get it off......another of my all too often senior moments.
 Tilda laying flat
 Tilda free standing
Tilda close up
I will be doing a few more Doily dabbles over the coming week.
Hugs for now x

Paper lace Doily Envelope

Good morning everyone!
A very wet and gloomy day here in the SE of England it is too, but hopefully my little photo demo will cheer you up and give you some inspiration.
I have been asked by quite a few people to give instructions on how to make the Doily Envelope.
I personally find that doing it with Photo's helps, because you can see step by step what it should look like.
I am not very good with the Camcorder and wouldn't know where to begin to make a Video, so i have done what i know i can manage without breaking anything, or messing up settings.
So here we go!
Recipe:
To make a 16cm x 12cm Envelope
1 x 8" Doily Square from my eBay store or Website
1 sheet of A4 card (Coloured)
Double sided tape (Thin)
Prittstick or Tombow glue
Ruler
Cut the card 21cm Square (The width of an A4 sheet is the right size)
Glue your 8" Doily to the card leaving an equal space all round, but DO NOT glue to the edge, leave 1cm around the edges of the Doily

Fold the card using a ruler as a guide at the front on the dotted inner square and this will leave a score mark on the back which you will then fold in the opposite direction.

Now fold the two sides so that the Doily pattern meets on the back

Once you have folded the card into an envelope shape, you will notice that you have a small overlap at all 4 corners, cut the triangle shape out as picture above.
Pull back the outer edge of the doily and add your double sided tape as above, then stick it down. the card is larger than the doily so acts as the overlap to stick it down.
The outer edge of the doily should be sticking up and when glued should match up with the opposite side hiding the join.

The Picture above shows how it would look if you glue the doily right to the edge and do not lift the edges of the Doily
Follow the same steps with the tape on the other side and it should look like the above.

Here is the finished Doily Envelope from the back
Here is the Doily from the front.
Here is the Doily Envelope with my earlier demo for the little paper lace Doily Parasol.
I hope you can all follow my instructions and will enjoy making a pretty paper lace envelope for that special person or occasion.
Hugs x

LILI OF THE VALLEY BABY'S CHRISTENING EASEL BOARD CARD

Using a 8" x 8" Doily from my website poppyscabin
Well! talk about getting carried away....Yes i have definitely done that all right.
I am just loving doing my Easel board cards, and this soft Lemon is just too scrummy.
Today i have a LOTV stamp "Baby Christening"
I decided to make it for any Gender hence the Lemon theme.
I have coloured it with my usual Promarkers and Prismacolor pencils.
I stamped and embossed the sentiment with silver, coloured the Easel with distress inks and Crackle paint, added a touch of Stickles for a little bit of sparkle and a few mulberry flowers.
The cross i found in my stash (Body Art)
I cut the outer pattern from one of my 8" x 8" paper doily Squares and patched it up so it looks like a frame around the card. the leftover i am going to use as a backgound, so no waste at all.
Hope you like what you see....
This card will be available to purchase on my eBay store.
Hugs...

One day i will get me a light Box so the sparkly bits show up better!!!
